First Look: Inferno by Passione Playing Cards

[Update] Inferno Playing Cards are now LIVE on Kickstarter!

The inspiration for this project can be said was "Years in the making". Inferno was inspired a few years ago by the 750th Anniversary of Dante Alighieri's birth. Passione has been hard at work since then and its great to see their passion for detail and beautiful artwork found a time and place to bring Inferno out of the depths.

Inferno is a project that has been conceived a couple of years ago, for the 750th anniversary of Dante Alighieri's birth. At that time we were not ready for a Kickstarter campaign and we created Avernum, the limited "preview"

For this project Passione Playing Cards has produced two intricate decks, Inferno Cocito and Inferno Dite. Dite is a "city" in Hell inhabited by demons and sinners, burning in flames, while Cocito is the lower part of hell, frozen in ice. The back of Cocito and Dite will differ slightly in their appearance with the center elements depicting fire on Dite and ice on Cocito to match their other worldly origins.

The campaign will also feature full Diptych Jokers and completely custom court cards depicting characters and imagery inspired by Dante's Inferno. Passione also always excels in working hard at their presentation, Inferno is not lacking in that area either. A special Collectors Edition will be available in a "Book" like, double tuck box that will carry both decks in one entwined presentation and open as a book would.

[Update] Inferno Playing Cards are now LIVE on Kickstarter!

Inferno launches March 6th 2017 and will be printed by Legends Playing Card Co. The inspired artwork on this project is sure to appeal to many and Passione is also developing a companion booklet with reference material about Dante as well as the Italian culture it comes from.

We wish Passione Playing Cards the best of luck on their new project and appreciate them sharing some information with us and our readers. Mark your calendars for Inferno and keep up with all the latest information on this project and others by following Passione on their Facebook page as well as Instagram.
