The delightful Alice in Wonderland Playing Cards is back! This time, designer Sasha Dounaevski has teamed up with playingcarddecks.com to launch a project on Kickstarter after an unsuccessful first attempt on Indiegogo. With the campaign ending on October 16th, they are already cruising along nicely toward their goal of $5k.
The Alice in Wonderland Playing Cards is a fully custom illustrated deck with characters from Lewis Carroll’s iconic children’s novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The deck is beautifully crafted with love to each character and affection to details, but still, leaves some space for imagination.
From the prototype deck, each suit is represented by a scene from the story and features iconic characters such as the White Rabbit, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, the Hatter and the Queen of Hearts on each of the court cards. Alice is prominently featured on the aces of each suit.
The Garden which Alice wanted to get so much makes for a unique card back. The tuck box oozes charm with artwork of the Gryphon and the Mock Turtle holding the Coat of Arms of the Wonderland. The tuck interior reveals artwork of Alice falling into the Rabbit’s hole.
The Alice in Wonderland Playing Cards will be printed by USPCC on Bee Stock. Pledge starts from $13 and add-ons such as uncut sheets, prototype deck and Carat acrylic deck display case are also available.
