Who can take a rainbow, wrap it in a sigh, soak it in the sun and make a groovy deck of cards … Paul Carpenter can (sung to the tune of Candyman by Sammy Davies, Jr). . . The mesmerizing holographic foil of the Zenith Playing Cards by Paul Carpenter of Encarded (@encarded) and printed by the Expert Playing Card Company (@expertpcc) in a Carat X3 Triple Deck Case.  Zenith, the first of the Encarded Signature Series, was released in April 2014 and in under 24 hours, a little less than 1,000 decks were sold out.  The deck’s 52 fully custom cards plus 2 jokers are housed in a sideways tuck with holographic foil and a numbered seal. . . Zenith is definitely one of my favorite decks and I could spend hours looking at the tuck and how it emits a rainbow of scintillating colors when struck by the light.  Needless to say, I was quite ecstatic when I was able to get one of the super limited Unnumbered Private Reserve Zenith (only 10 released) as well as the one of a kind, prototype Zenith Tuck Box from a fellow collector last year.  The cherry on top being able to meet Paul in person at the last 52plus Joker Convention (@52plusjoker) held in Cincinatti, OH this past October and get my decks signed! . . To learn more about Paul Carpenter’s work, check out his website www(dot)encarded(dot)come or support him on Patreon and get the chance of early access to some of his ultra rare stuff, like the Gilded Chancellor Deck, which is limited to 50 and currently available to patrons of Encarded.  BTW, Chancellor is the second deck in the Encarded Signature Series. . . Skulls and Bones. I got challenged to this 7 Deck 7 Day Challenge by @thedoc318. For today I chose to go with the set of Skull and Bones Limted Editions from 2016 and 2017. The decks have been printed by @expertpcc and were designed by @kingswildproject. I chose this set for today because it demonstrates what can be done. EPCC steadily tries to push the limits of whats possible and those decks are an evident for that! Great job, keep it up! Obviously those precious decks need to be housed correctly so that they dont collect dust or absorb moisture or whatever! That is why I am using some Carat Cases. @caratcasecreations does specific cases for those boxes with the thicker tuck, so be sure to check those out! - Tags and Hashtags: #playing #cards #playingcards #card #deck#carddeck #collection #collecting #collect #magic#magician #design #designed #designer #playingart#kardify #opusinitiative #rareplaingcards #cardsxiii#cardsoftheday #cardsofinstagram #picture #potd @kardify @opusinitiative - #skull #bones #skullandbones #epcc #kingswild

The spectacular wrap around tucks of Hello Tiki playing cards by Montenzi Design (@montenzi) and printed by Wang Jing Printing Co in a Carat X6 Half Brick Case.  Hello Tiki was Montenzi’s second Kickstarter project (funded May 2017) and continues to celebrate New Zealand and its Culture with a focus on the Hei Tiki, an amulet worn by the Maori of New Zealand. . . A White Deck (Limited to 500) and a Red Deck (Unlimited), each having two different tuck box designs, custom pips, courts, aces and jokers, were printed using the traditional colors of NZ, Black, Red and White.  One of the tuck designs was a replication of the card backs and the other a tribal drawing of a hei tiki in a wrap around tuck, which is truly beautiful! . . I actually had all four decks in two Carat X2 Double Deck Cases, but wanted to display the wrap around tucks and tried it with a Carat X6.  After adding some inserts from other cases (both 3mm and 5mm), 5 decks fit quite well inside the Carat X6. . . For more on Montenzi and their other decks, check out their website at www(dot)montenzi(dot)nz. . .
