The detailed tuck of the Charles Darwin Foundation Playing Cards, produced by the Charles Darwin Foundation and printed by the United States Playing Card Company in a Carat X1 Single Deck Case. . . For over 50 years, the Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF) has worked closely with the Galapagos National Park Directorate (GNPD), the main local government environmental authority, overseeing the safeguarding of the Galapagos Islands’ natural resources and working with governmental institutions, providing the scientific knowledge and assistance to ensure the conservation of the islands. . . This beautiful deck, limited to 2,500, was printed in 2014 to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF) and has custom backs, pips, courts, Ace of Spades and Jokers as well as messages about their work on the number cards.  The courts are represented by the various indigenous creatures of the Galapagos, including the finch, iguana, tortoise along with others, including my favorite, the blue-footed booby. . . The front of the tuck has the CDF’s logo with the Ace of Spades in the middle and Lonesome George on the bottom.  On the back of the tuck is a copy of the card backs, which has a mirror image of Lonesome George surrounded by local creatures, including iguanas, spiders, sharks and birds. . . Lonesome George was the last known Pinta Island Tortoise and serves as an important symbol for the conservation efforts in the Galapagos Islands.  Sadly George passed in 2012. . . To learn more about the Galapagos or even better, to donate some time or money, visit their website at www (dot) darwinfoundation (dot) org or follow them on IG (@darwinfound). Please note that according to their Facebook post on Dec 16, the COmON Foundation will match (1:1) all donations received before Dec 31.  So, what are you waiting for! . . How do you protect your treasures? . . #cards #cardcase #cardcases #caratx1 #caratcase #caratcases #caratcardcase #caratcardcases #caratcasecreations #cardcollector #carddisplay #carddisplays #cardporn #charlesdarwinfoundation #conserve #darwinfound #galapagos #kardify #playingcards #playingcarddisplay #playingcardcollector  #rareplayingcards
