Social network such as Twitter and Instagram provides a platform for breaking news and instant reactions. Cardists, Magicians and Card aficionados are often rarely passed up an opportunity to show off their card skills. Social networks are fast-moving and there are a good amount of posts that don’t get the recognition they deserve.

To change that, we’ve picked the best Tweets and Instagram posts from the past week with the hashtag #kardify. To see the ALL hashtagged images, click here!

【Card Review】 Corona Playing Cards: Helios Black Prototype Designed by @tuyetduyetstudio of Vietnam Produced by @bombmagic Printed by @tw.cards on improved varnished stock Features of cards: ① Slight metallic ink on the back with no margin of error ② Fully custom fonts, pips, court cards ③ Bright orangy-red for red suits ④ Extras: 2 identical jokers First, this deck is a prototype and the stock and finish are prone to change, but this prototype deck feels springy and phenomenal. The back has a metallic hue, but the cards have a matte look to it, making them feel luxurious with subtlety. With that aside, I’ll focus on the design specs in the following. The Corona deck design is based on ancient Vietnamese folklore, and the back design is the back design of the tuck. In a general sense, the overall design has a South East Asian version of a Mayan vibe. The figures on the jokers show a goddess figure worshipping the sun drawn in thick, rigid, edgy lines. That sort of geometric touch continues to the aces with the AoS being the most prominent: simple rigid lines forming the spade pattern. The court cards are filled with easter eggs although on first sight they look semi-standard. In fact, they aren’t anything near standard at all because all the clothing details are vastly different from USPCC standards. I’d call FULLY custom. It’s a theme for BombMagic decks that the court figures feature elements of magic: KoS a pencil, QoS a black cat, JoS a magnifying glass; KoD a candle and envelope, JoD a star-tip wand; KoC with Dumbledore’s Elder Wand, JoC a ruler; KoH a keyboard, and JoH a gourd and a test tube. QoD, QoC, and QoH all have butterflies. Besides these unique customizations, the faces of the royalties all depict Vietnamese figures, making this deck a heavily cultural-based project. Last but not least, the bulky archaic fonts are likely my most favorite of all. Normally, it’s those high-end designers who put effort into drawing the indices from zero, but the fonts here clearly speaks the same. Very well thought of and enhances the luxurious experience of this deck. If you’re interested in this deck, follow the link in my bio to sign up for their launch!
