【The Ultimate One】 As much as my collection has expanded, this deck will always hold that special No.1 place for me: Gemini Experimental deck (#167 of 170) Designed by @stockholm17 Cards from Gemini Terra, printed by @expertpcc Tuck made from 100% cotton paper with letterpress in gold and silver Numbered, signed, and handcrafted in Stockholm Some may have known the story before from a previous post, but it’s worthy again since Lorenzo has just won both Deck of the Year and Artist of the Year from @52plusjoker convention. This post is not only to celebrate his achievement in playing card design but also how genuine he is in person. Gemini Experimental was the first rare deck that I went scavenger-hunting for, and having failed to locate any plausible option, I had this wild idea to contact Lorenzo for help. This deck was an extremely limited version from his Gemini series KS campaign, which was already successfully funded in 2016. Naturally, the deck became even harder to locate. I took the contact as a hit-or-miss and never thought it would work. However, perhaps with my activities on @unitedcardists , Lorenzo got back to me and said that he only had 2 left, and he is willing to spare one for me. TWO. Just freaking TWO left in his private reserve. Not only was he willing to sacrifice his own stock for my dream deck, he even struck me a deal that was far lower than what the aftermarket options were asking for… In all sincerity, the fact that a creator is willing to spare 1 from 2 of his remaining stock for a newbie is unthinkable for me. Think about it: nowadays we live in a community where “Private Reserve” is a title for jacking up prices. Since that day, I’ve became a loyal supporter of Lorenzo’s work. This deck is perhaps the closest personal relationship I’ve had with him and I’m wholeheartedly grateful. Lorenzo had opened my mind to the world of custom playing cards and given me this motivation to give back to the community in the form of reviews and lending help to new creators and collectors, so they may also build their interest in the wonderful world of playing cards. . #CardCollectionDay “ONE AND ONLY” @seasonsplayingcards
