The Feather Deck is the result of 9 months of collaborative work between Travis DeMello and the team at Vanishing Inc. Brooklyn-based DeMello specializes in anatomy drawings and selected the goldfinch feather, because of its ergonomic, symmetrical shape.
The back design may look photographic, but it is entirely hand-drawn. The pastel orange back of every card has been embossed with gold foil in the subtlest of ways. The face cards are pretty much standard with the exception of the Ace of Spades and Jokers.
The deck is packaged in an elegant deep purple tuck box starkly embossed with foil and with additional artwork by DeMello. The Feather Deck celebrates the awe-inspiring beauty of the natural world, and reminds us of the inner-beauty found in the bird’s feather.
