Following their debut at Cardistry-Con in Copenhagen at the end of July, the redesigned Smoke & Mirrors Playing Cards are now available for purchase.

This new limited edition reimagines the iconic series by Dan & Dave with inspiration drawn from brutalist architecture, featuring bold geometric patterns, clean lines, and stark industrial aesthetics throughout the deck.

Each deck is housed in a minimalist tuck box with a die-cut window and comes individually numbered (1 of 288), adding to its collectible appeal.

Deck View: Mastermind Playing Cards

Mastermind Playing Cards by Keymaster Games is a fully custom deck inspired by the board game Caper: Europe. One of our Top12 playing cards of 2022, the artwork follows the game's stylish heist theme, with custom card backs and court cards depicting master thieves planning and executing daring robberies across some of Europe's most famous cities.

The deck is housed in an embossed, foil-stamped tuck box that complements its premium presentation. Drawing inspiration from Caper: Europe, the illustrations reference iconic landmarks in Paris, Rome, London, and Barcelona, creating a cohesive design that blends strategy, mystery, and modern playing card art.

ARK Unveils Athena Playing Cards Inspired by Greek Mythology

ARK Playing Cards has released on Kickstarter, Athena Playing Cards. This fully custom deck celebrates the Greek goddess of wisdom, warfare, and craftsmanship through elaborate neoclassical artwork and an innovative collector-focused design.

Inspired by the Aegis shield, the deck features fully custom illustrations of Athena alongside the Twelve Olympian gods, with each court card depicting a different deity. The artwork combines the sculptural look of ancient Greek statues with ornate Art Nouveau-inspired details.

One of the deck's standout features is its Pop-up Plus tuck case, which unfolds into a full 360-degree circular display resembling Athena's legendary shield. The intricate packaging tells key stories from Greek mythology, including the Acropolis, Medusa, and the Trojan Horse.

The cards showcase ARK's exclusive Radiant HOLO printing process, creating shimmering holographic effects that highlight armor, shields, halos, and decorative elements while maintaining a smooth handling feel. The symmetrical card backs center around the Aegis shield, flanked by Athena's owl, serpents, olive branches, and classical architectural motifs.

Today, I'm incredibly grateful to share that the Kardify website has officially reached 10 million page views!

What started as a passion project back in 2014 has grown into an archive documenting the incredible creativity of the playing card industry. One thing I've always believed in is preserving that history, which is why every deck article published since day one remains accessible today (including Tuck Case articles). Looking back through those early posts is like taking a journey through the evolution of modern playing card design.

Over the past decade, I've had the privilege of watching countless talented designers, artists, publishers, and brands grow, experiment, and push the boundaries of what a deck of cards can be. It's been amazing to see the industry evolve, and even more rewarding... to share those stories with collectors around the world.
