Card Radar: Patrick Kun's Mirage Playing Cards is Back with Eclipse Edition

This year, Patrick Kun’s Mirage Playing Cards is back in black! During the conception stage of the first Mirage deck, black color was always an option. On the product page, Patrick said,

Back in 2013 when Mirage was first designed, black color has always been our first choice. as some of you may have seen from our previous prototype of Mirage. This year, we are extremely excited to bring this color back with new upgraded feature. 

 

The Mirage Eclipse Edition has the same iconic look as the previous decks. The tuck case features a thick black dyed paper with an accent of silver foil stamp along sealed with a red metallic stamp.

Inside, the court cards are now fully custom. Magicians such as Laura London, Calen Morelli, Eric Jones, and of course, Patrick are featured. The new version is now marked! According to Patrick,

The secret marking system can be read on all four corners. The marking is easy to spot and yet still pass the riffle test! No need to worry about anyone finding out the secrets. It was very important for this marking system to be as practical as possible, and I think we nailed it! 

 

The Mirage Eclipse Edition is printed by the Legends Playing Card Company on the brand new Stud finish, a super soft and 'papery' feeling stock which requires no break-in period. Comes in Juan Tamariz’s Mnemonica stack.

News: Got Magic? Releases the Enchanting Winterberry Playing Cards

Winterberry playing cards by Got Magic? are beautifully designed and illustrated by Estonian graphic designer and cardist Toomas Pintson. The enchanting deck is fully custom, and meticulously hand-illustrated from the ground up.

The deck features a distinctive style of illustrations making it truly a unique piece of art inspired by the beautiful and cold Nordic winters. The goal was to create an elegant and beautiful deck of cards that card collectors would appreciate.

According to Toomas,

One of the highlights of this deck and one I'm the proudest of is the artwork on the front of the tuck case - it features artistic “Winterberry” lettering surrounded by this cool looking psychedelic artwork.

Kickstarter: Crystal Cobra Playing Cards by TCC Playing Cards Co.

Fresh off the successful funding of the FORMA deck, the team at TCC Playing Cards Co. launched two custom decks of playing cards on Kickstarter- the Bicycle TCC Rainbow and Crystal Cobra.

Already funded, the Crystal Cobra is an intriguing deck of playing cards. Based on the image renders on the campaign page, Crystal Cobra is fully custom and prominently features a unique low-poly design cobra on the tuck and the card backs.

The cranberry-purple color theme of the deck is also reflected on the the low-poly design of the Aces, Joker and courts, making is look stylized and modern-looking.

Also included are 2 gaff cards, a tuck box reveal and cards in Mnemonica order. These seem to be crafted for the magician in mind, we are slightly confused as to why this deck is launched under TCC's Cardistry brand.

The Bicycle TCC Rainbow is a vibrant deck of cards featuring a full spectrum of colors, resulting in vibrant gameplay and artistic display of various card flourishes. The exterior of the Bicycle-branded tuck case is beautiful with an abstract rainbow colored pixelated artwork.

Inside, the deck features the familiar rider card backs created from a color spectrum that is infinitely pleasing to the eye.
