In the Garden of Eden Playing Cards, artist Mori weaves a tapestry of surrealistic grotesquery, capturing the ethereal essence of life, death, and human desires. The decks feature familiar biblical motifs such as goats, snakes, owls, fountains, flames, trees, thorns, apples, grapes, and skeletons. Each card tells a visual tale, a sequential narrative resonating with the Edenic vision.

Contained within the collector’s box are two distinct decks: “Garden of Eden” and “Lost Paradise.” These decks, when combined, create a harmonious visual journey that mirrors the innocent beauty and eventual fall of humanity.

Black Requiem Counterspell Playing Cards

Designed by Lorenzo Gaggiotti, the special edition Black Requiem Counterspell playing cards feature 100% custom artwork, revolving around themes of darkness and pain. The gold and silver foil embellishments on the face cards and gold foil on the back design give it a touch of luxury!

Despite the dark illustrations on the Courts, Jokers, and Aces, the Black Requiem executes a counterspell by incorporating Magick sigils on these cards, conveying the associated emotions. Each court card and Ace features a Magick sigil printed with cold foil application at the center, with gold for hearts and diamonds and silver for clubs and spades.

The tuck box is adorned with white foil, black foil, embossing, and an inner color in a deep, shiny red on black paper stock. Printed by Cartamundi, this exquisite deck is currently available for purchase on stockholm17 for $25.

Atlantis V2 Playing Cards by Riffle Shuffle

In 2021, Riffle Shuffle successfully funded Atlantis Playing Cards with 987% funding level. Now, they are back on Kickstarter with Atlantis Playing Cards V2 in two mesmerizing editions: Rise and Sunken. These decks take players on a visual journey through the rise and fall of Atlantis, a city once unrivaled in knowledge and technological prowess, now shrouded in myth and mystery.

The Rise Edition, clad in a vibrant red, unfolds Atlantis at the peak of its glory. The die-cut box offers a glimpse of the grandeur within—a city of architectural marvels and natural beauty. From intricate designs to heavenly clouds in red foil, every detail is a testament to Atlantis’s prosperity and the gods’ blessings.

Contrasting with the Rise, the Sunken Edition’s purple and silver palette depicts Atlantis’s fall, engulfed in flames and submerged beneath the sea. The die-cut feature symbolizes peering into the submerged city, revealing a narrative of arrogance, divine punishment, and a city’s descent into the abyss.

Inside, the card designs weave a captivating tale. Tails of Mischief Playing Cards

After three successful campaigns, Jack Brutus Penny is back with Tails of Mischief Playing Cards on Kickstarter. Tails of Mischief is somewhat of a stand-alone sequel to his previous release, Nazo Nazo. This series tells the story of the mice living underneath the Guest House: when the cats are away, they get to enjoy their life. The designs are inspired by Japanese ukiyo-e wood-block printing, historical culture, and Buddhist and Taoist philosophies.

There are four different editions of the series: The Whey of the Woods – The Whey of the House – The Whey of the Fields – The Whey of the Island. Every back design of the decks are different, yet they are all full-bleed artworks that will create very beautiful fanning artwork visuals! Each of them represents one of the Four Seasons, and also, the four virtues.

The tuck box features premium matte stock with excellent features. There is intricate laser cutting, and clear holographic foiling with embossing effect – creating the most beautiful tuck boxes for the series. The front side shows the title of the series with the stylized Japanese kanji letters – they represent the editions of the decks.

The card backs showcase Jack’s logo – a rabbit man walking the dog within the wavy pattern. Having all four decks displayed and aligned by the sides shows a special feature: they will form the illustration of the delicatessen.

The Number Cards are designed as semi-transformative cards: where the pips interact with the background. Also, they are designed to be puzzle cards – you get to align them to create a large illustration. The number cards from 2 to 9 from each suit are used – the 10s can be used to overlay the art to create a new scene!

The Aces all feature enlarged customized pips: a composition of mice doing their stuff. The courts are a special call-back to the classic royals we remember – it is a two-way illustration holding up banners in the form of the classic royals.

The series also comes with a very special wooden box that can store and display all four decks. Along with this, there is a folding album which is a long coloring book for adults. There is also a novella specially written for this decks series: the tale of the mouse wanderer going through the four Wheys.
