Final Days on Kickstarter, Hotel Fur Elise Playing Cards

0

Anti-Faro's Hotel Fur Elise Playing Cards is a haunting tribute to lost souls and forgotten tragedies, inviting players into a hotel frozen at the moment of its destruction. Once a place of luxury, Hotel Fur Elise now exists in perpetual twilight, a fractured space where time falters and spirits remain trapped in the echoes of their final night.

Inspired by classic haunted-house tales, the deck blends early-century elegance with unsettling stillness. Ornate patterns frame fragments of catastrophe, transforming every card into part of a grand and terrible spectacle that continues to haunt the hotel’s halls. This is not just a deck of playing cards, but a narrative experience built around mystery, atmosphere, and discovery.

Like most of their previous releases, a puzzle is hidden  throughout the artwork. Room numbers, secret messages, and cryptic symbols form a fragmented cipher that can only be fully solved by combining both Special Editions and a UV light. Together, they reveal the complete path forward, offering a chance to set the lost souls free and claim the prize they guard.

This Kickstarter project includes four editions: Mano Destra and Mano Sinistra in both Special and Standard forms. The Special Editions arrive in elaborate feature tuck boxes that elevate the experience beyond traditional packaging.

The Infinity Mirror Tuck Box reveals endless spectral hallways at the press of a concealed button, while the Spectral Elevator Tuck Box uses lenticular printing to bring a ghostly elevator attendant flickering into existence, his unfinished duty eternally bound to the control lever.

The card backs across all editions depict a solitary, ornate hotel door. When viewed together, they form a disorienting hallway that appears to rearrange itself, with perspective slipping just out of reach. The court cards deepen the narrative further. In the Special Editions, each keyhole reveals the grim final moments of the hotel’s guests, depicted as haunting post-mortems frozen in time.

The Standard Editions instead feature traditional two-way courts, offering smoother gameplay while retaining the hotel’s eerie visual language. An animated elevator indicator appears across the card backs of all four editions, glitching between floors that no longer exist, like a ghost trapped in a mechanical loop.

For collectors and puzzle-solvers, dedicated box sets unlock the full experience. The Collector’s Set includes all four editions, granting access to every clue, while the Half-Brick Set focuses on preservation and display.

Printed by Room One Cards and pledge starts at $22 on Kickstarter.
