In 2021, the Dutch Card House Company (DCHC) embarked on a creative journey with the launch of their Paisley Poker playing card series, featuring the vibrant red, blue, and yellow editions adorned with their distinctive paisley pattern. These colorful cards, sans their marking system to ensure fair play in poker games, garnered immense support with almost 400 backers rallying behind their project.

A popular request has been for a borderless Paisley Playing Card deck, and the team at DCHC is excited to announce that the time has come to bring this vision to life. This new edition features white decor, carefully chosen to accentuate the vivid colors and transform this borderless design into a visual feast.

The borderless back design of the cards gracefully showcases an intricate pattern as it elegantly unfolds especially when fanning their deck of cards.

For the first time in the Paisley series, they updated the tuck design. The look at feel still completely complement the series, but this time the design runs from the front to the back of the box and can create a display with 3 boxes. A custom seal is used to securely close the deck of cards, providing unmistakable proof that the deck is brand new and untouched when opened by a dealer at the (poker) table.

For devoted Paisley enthusiasts, an exclusive Collector’s deck featuring the Turquoise Tuck. The cards are the same as with the white deck! Limited print to just 150 units, with a numbered custom seal.

Paisley Playing Cards Ton sur Ton on Kickstarter

Dutch Card House Co., a playing card company based in Amsterdam, released a popular deck of cards in 2018 called Paisley Playing Cards, featuring a design based on the ancient Persian Paisley pattern. The deck received positive support and multiple series were released, including Metallic Red & Blue, Magical Black & Gold, Christmas, Royals, and Poker. The company is now introducing a new addition to the series, the Paisley Ton sur Ton Playing Cards.

Ton sur Ton is a Dutch fashion term that hints at the combination of similar colors, creating a pleasant matching design of this iconic natural paisley pattern. This series comes in three colorways: Poudre Rouge, Poudre Blue, and Poudre Green. Both Blue and Red are standard editions, while Green is a Kickstarter exclusive edition.

The tuck box for the Blue and Rouge editions comes with an alternative tuck closure. The flap of the box folds over the tuck and slides into the die cut halfway through the tuck. With the illustrious elaborate ribbon banner panning from the top to the back of the box, it compliments the unique design of the flap. The box also comes with embossing on the artwork with silver and rose gold (respectively) foil to add up an extra glamorous look.

The design of the cards is what you would expect in every Paisley Playing Cards series: standards with slight modifications. The back design is a monochrome color of its respective edition, with courts colored either Blue or Rouge based on its edition. These decks will be produced by Legends Playing Cards Co. on their crushed stock with Viper Finish and Diamond Cut, with each edition limited to 700 decks.

Poudre Green Edition features a sideway tuck case – the cards are accessible with a box that opens from the sides. It also features artwork with embossing and green gold foil. The cards are also in the same format as the standard editions, only that it uses the green color scheme to match their name. This deck will be produced by WJPC on their exclsuive paper stock with a butter-smooth finish. This is a Kickstarter-exclusive item, and it will be made based on the order counts in the campaign.

Pledge starts at $18 on Kickstarter. The three decks are also available in Gilded Editions: Poudre Blue with Silver Foil Gilding – Poudre Rouge with Rose Gold Foil Gilding – Pudre Green with Green Foil Gilding. The tuck case for the Gilded Editions will come with custom numbered sealed done in the foil of respective gilding color.

First Look at Wonder (Emerald Edition) Playing Cards

The beautiful Emerald Edition of Wonder Playing Cards are designed for everyday gameplay, playing card enthusiasts, and card collectors. They embody the essence of wonder with the whimsical and original stacked paisley design on the card backs. The stacked paisley creates a unique, mesmerizing 3D design that gives each card vertical depth and intrigue.

The card faces also add a touch of customization that doesn’t distract from the beauty of the cards or the simplicity of the design. Starting with the colors, designer Chris Hage has added a touch of emerald green to the faces, matching the card backs. According to Chris,

This green gives the cards a customized and original look. In addition to the green, we use a hint of gold metallic ink on the court cards to give them a nice subtle shimmer. Finally, the most important customization on the courts is in the faces of each King, Queen, and Jack. Because this deck is about whimsy and wonder, we’ve redrawn the faces to show them smiling or experiencing wonder in some way.

This subtle addition makes the court cards truly original. The entire deck is inspired by the story of the whimsical W.C. Marks, The Wonder Maker. An immigrant from Germany in 1896, William Christian Marks (later known as W.C. Marks) designed and built one of the best and most luxurious hotels in The United States. Sparkling chandeliers, Victorian art, lavish food and drink, and the finest textiles were the hallmark of his landmark property. Guests at his luxury hotel were often treated to Mr. Marks’ whimsical games, entertaining magic tricks, sideshow stunts and even hand-painted artwork. It was this eccentric array of talent that spawned his nickname: The Wonder Maker.

It’s this legacy of luxury, nostalgia, and wonder that we hoped to capture in the design of this beautiful deck of playing cards. To commemorate The Wonder Maker, there are two matching Jokers, expertly illustrated by award-winning artist Rob Smith Jr., featuring WC Marks holding his box of Wonder.

The tuck boxes on all Wonder Playing Cards are of the highest quality. Each tuck is designed with two foils and strategic embossing on premium matte paper stock. All tuck boxes are letterpress using the highest print standards in the industry.

This will be Chris’ fifth Kickstarter campaign, and fourth Wonder deck, and have created what he thinks are amazing rewards for backers.

The most popular reward tier in our campaigns is always the Elite Bundle tier. This tier gives the backer everything that’s available at the start of the campaign, plus some exclusive items that are not available anywhere else. The Elite Tier will once again be packed with value in this campaign including the popular collector box, custom half-brick box, gilded decks and so many more Kickstarter exclusive items.

The campaign will launch in February, so you’ll want to follow the campaign link to get in early on the best rewards

Paisley (Poker Edition) Playing Cards on Kickstarter

Paisley Playing Cards are back, and this time in a vibrant colorway and WITHOUT the marking system. Paisley Poker Edition Playing Cards are perfect for family game nights. The idea for poker playing cards did not end with the cards alone. The team at Dutch Cards House Co. wants to give all tabletop game players a unique set of tabletop counters to play games in Paisley style!

THREE decks are on offer during the Kickstarter campaign, Blue, Red, and Yellow editions. All three decks come with two metallic inks on the faces, back, and tuck.

For the Poker Blue edition, the team chose a dark Imperial Blue as the main color of the deck and tuck. The paisley design has been designed with gold, yellow, orange, and teal shades.  For the Poker Red edition, the dominant color is Velvet Red combined with yellow, gold, blue, and orange shades. The very special Paisley gilded yellow edition comes with an updated color scheme to the courts and Ace of Spades, different than that of the Blue and Red edition.

Inside, the court cards and numbered cards maintain their traditional look to make them recognizable for every card and tabletop game. They all have been updated with some Paisley details with the respective deck's color scheme. This means the court cards of the blue deck are slightly different than the courts in the red edition. This ensures that each deck is unique.

The tuck has the same recognizable style as all other Paisley editions. The big Paisley logo placed on the front and the Paisley's name suited on the side. This means it has a nice consistency on your shelf when displaying all paisley editions together.

The decks are printed by Cartamundi on their True Linen B9 finish Slim-Line Board. Pledge starts at $28 on Kickstarter. Also available during the campaign is a premium, hand-crafted custom-designed wooden (veneer) box with a black matte finish that will stand out on your game table for sure!
