After teasing the deck over the weekend, Huron Low announced the pre-order of Virtuoso Paths. This deck takes a different approach from many modern custom decks, focusing less on flashy visuals and more on the philosophy behind cardistry itself.
Named Virtuoso Paths, the deck explores the idea that progress in cardistry comes through curiosity, repetition, and exploration rather than chasing recognition or results. This concept is reflected throughout the design, with card backs that change across the deck to create a sense of movement and progression when riffling, spreading, or flourishing the cards.
Several hidden design elements reinforce the theme, including paths that merge together, interlocking shapes that form stars, and custom court cards featuring a symbolic ring at the center of each character.
Beyond the artwork, Virtuoso has placed a strong emphasis on handling. The team spent over a year experimenting with paper stocks, coatings, and cutting methods to create what they describe as one of their most comfortable and controllable decks to date. The deck also includes four extra "star cards" that can be added to adjust the deck's thickness and stiffness to personal preference.
Priced at $15 per deck, Virtuoso Paths is available as a limited printed-to-order release, with production beginning after the pre-order window closes and delivery expected in September 2026.
