Kings Wild's Postage Paid Playing Cards Are Now Available!

Finally released to the public, Postage Paid was the March deck featured in the Kings Wild Shorts subscription. The Postage Paid deck was originally inspired by playing card collector Joseph Pierson (Instagram: @pip_nosher) who has one of the most extensive and diverse playing card collections in the world.

Joseph posted images of playing cards from the early 20th century on Instagram that was written on and sent as postcards. Using cast-off playing cards was a common occurrence before the post office made the minimum size of a parcel 4"x 6". According to designer Jackson Robinson,
This collection of playing card "postcards" sparked the idea in my brain as I wanted to see the rest of the cards in the incomplete deck Joseph had managed to piece together over the years. I set to task and created my own deck of postcards playing cards, using Joseph's unique deck as the springboard for the idea.

The number cards, aces, jokers, and the Kings Wild standard courts in the Postage Paid deck features a stamp and also the postal address of the recipient of the card. Each of the cards also has a traditional style "postage paid" stamp, canceling out the postage stamp. All 50 states are present with a city representing the state.

As a special feature of the deck, Jackson asked all of the Kings Wild Shorts subscribers to send in a fictitious address that meant something to them so that they could be immortalized within the deck in their own special way.

These truly unique decks are available now from kingswildproject.com for $15.

Infinite Rule Playing Cards by Andy Sundblad on Kickstarter

Infinite Rule is a gorgeous deck of playing cards designed from the ground up by Andy Sundblad, a long-time freelance designer and illustrator for the wine industry. According to Andy,
Inspired by other independent designers who’ve made outstanding playing cards, I decided to create one of my own. This is me, putting my best, longest, and hardest work out there. 100% my all. My personal American dream. I hope you like it.

Inside, every one of the face cards is elaborate, unique, and detailed. Andy continued,
I felt strongly that each and every illustration should be new—not recycled simple card figures from 100 years ago. It took me months to design and illustrate the cards—it’s the most hours I’ve ever spent on a project. These illustrations were my “One Thing” that I did each morning, until they were complete.

The artwork of the four aces are truly mesmerizing. Rather than just a simple suit design on each card, Andy wanted elaborate, unique artwork that would make you feel extra lucky when fortune dealt it to your hand.

The courts have been updated with a more modern look. They now hold badass weapons such as maces, axes, and swords. The weapons change with each suit so there are 12 unique weapons in total.

To give it a touch of luxury and sophistication, the card backs and faces will be embellished with metallic ink.

The deck is kept secure in an exquisite tuck box featuring intricate design on rare burgundy-colored paper with a special soft feel, enhanced with gold foil and embossing.

Produced by the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC). Pledge starts at $15 on Kickstarter. Add-ons such as enamel pins, marbled dice, uncut sheet, deck case, and screenprints are available during the campaign.

Kickstarter: Elevation (Night Edition) Playing Cards

Designed by Bruno Azevedo (Instagram @bplayingcards) and produced by EmilySleights52 (Instagram @emilysleights52), Elevation Night Editon is a gorgeous deck representing the struggles life often throws at us. Even though we all go through difficult, dark times, it's extremely important to keep moving forward and to persevere.

Inside, the mirrored back design features trees and mountains which represent difficulties. The shooting stars in the sky help create a wonderful effect when fanned, and remind us that sometimes things do go downwards in our life. The beautiful blue compass in the center of the design brings attention to the fact that we must always head north and keep advancing, no matter what occurs.

The court cards are personalized and recolored with elegant forest green, consistent with the theme of the deck. Instead of weapons, the royals are now holding something custom related to hiking: a map, a hiking stick, a compass, and a plant.

The custom ace of spades is truly unique and features the peak of the mountain with the words "Move Mountains", with the aim to inspire. Also included are 3 jokers. Two are identical and the third features a broken wind-rose where even the word "joker" is shattered.

The tuck beautifully showcases all of the aspects of the back design: shooting stars, trees, plants, the mountain, and the gorgeous compass. On the sides, you can find the words "Move Mountains" and "Night Edition".

Manufactured by Cartamundi, Elevation will be printed with True Linen B9 Finish and SlimLine Paper Stock. Pledge starts at $13 on Kickstarter.

Final Days! Lit V2 Playing Cards on Kickstarter

Designed after timeless classics such as Wynn and Jerry’s Nugget. The team at Docs Playing Card Co. wanted to create a deck that has a beautifully simple and minimalistic design. A design that appeals to collectors, cardicians, and technicians on every continent. Lit V2 Playing Cards is a versatile deck for everyday use currently funding on Kickstarter.

This sleek deck features a black/gold colorway with custom mirrored card backs, Ace of Spades, and Jokers. The court cards are standard but recolored to fit the overall color palette of the deck. The deck isn't too showy for the professional performer and versatile enough to be used for family game nights.

The deck is packaged in a minimalist tuck case for Standard, Limited, and Gilded edition decks. Yes.. the tuck variations serve different purposes. According to the campaign page,
The performer in me cares more about the quality of the cards and less about how the tuck looks. I don't want to spend the extra money on a custom tuck that I will throw away in a few days. On the other hand, the collector in me loves a very nice tuck to display. To solve this issue we offer both a standard tuck as well as a custom hand-assembled tuck. As a thank you to those who have worked on this campaign we also print a few private reserves that aren't for available at this time (Unless included as a giveaway, a brick tier or special).

LIT V2 playing cards will be printed by the USPCC on a crushed casino grade bee stock with an embossed finish. Pledge starts at $13 and available now on Kickstarter. 3 days remaining.
