Final Week on Kickstarter, “Let’s Play V1” Playing Cards by Luke Wadey

Meticulously crafted by Luke Wadey, “Let’s Play V1” playing cards is a fresh and innovative take on traditional playing card design. Currently funding on Kickstarter, “Let’s Play V1” marks the inception of a new typographic collection inspired by cardistry.

“Let’s Play V1” elevates the art of playing card design to an entirely new level. It explores graphic treatments by combining effects, typography, and patterns. The theme revolves around visually representing and altering emotions through graphic design.

The deck’s one-way back design features the words ‘Let’s Play’ contorted across the card, creating a mesmerizing effect. Each card face boasts its own warped typography, transforming all 52 cards into distinct pieces of art while remaining practical for gameplay.

Even the aces receive a unique treatment, with a single pip moved around the card. Additionally, the deck includes a double backer card and three jokers that collectively form a single captivating artwork when properly aligned. During cardistry flourishes, the deck comes to life as the shapes twist and turn, generating unique patterns and illusions.

The tuck box mirrors the deck’s innovative design, making it not only functional but also visually striking. It can be used for card flourishes or displayed as a remarkable piece of art.

Produced by the prestigious United States Playing Card Company, this deck is part of a one-time print run with a limited production of approximately 1500 decks.

“Let’s Play V1” also offers a limited edition variant in a striking all-black design, exclusively available through this campaign. This edition includes 55 cards printed on Linen stock with an MPC finish. The tuck box can be signed free of charge, and personalized ace of spades cards are included. This limited edition promises to be a rare and coveted collector’s item.
