Passport (Luxe Gilded Edition) Playing Cards

Created by Sinecure in collaboration with X-Decks, Passport Playing Cards transports you to the glamorous Jet Set era of the 1970s, blending luxury, mystery, and Cold War intrigue. Set in 1972, the deck captures the allure of high-altitude travel through its gold hot-foil back design, inspired by passport emblems and flight officer sleeve braiding. 

The aces resemble authentic visas, while the number cards mimic weathered passport pages stamped with vintage port marks. The court cards depict four aristocratic families in exile, combining opulent period details with holographic watermark effects and subtle nods to traditional card symbols like the suicide King.

The tuck box, made from dark blue leatherette-textured stock, features embossed gold foil and a die-cut window revealing holographic artwork. The stunning Luxe Edition enhances this with gold gilding, a numbered interior, and a side window showing the gilded edges. Also, hidden puzzles and Easter eggs weave a Cold War mystery through the design, rewarding those clever enough to solve it.

DARKFUR: Claw & Scale Playing Cards

Final days on Kickstarter, DARKFUR: Claw & Scale is a lavishly produced deck series that merges intricate illustration with luxury finishes, presenting a living bestiary through the medium of playing cards.

Conceived by The Other Self and illustrated by artist Petro Kostiuk, DARKFUR depicts a realm shaped by tooth, claw, and scale. Each of the 54 cards becomes a window into a stark and mysterious landscape where mythical creatures have evolved to survive and dominate. The result is a collection that feels as much like an illuminated manuscript of fantasy natural history as it does a deck of cards.

Two editions anchor the project: Claw and Scale. The Claw Edition comes housed in a dark grey tuck box embossed with rune-like detailing and finished with striking silver foil, echoing jagged mountains and the sharpened talons of beasts. Its borderless card backs are filled with abstract silhouettes that reveal new details the more they are studied, like the fleeting shadow of a winged predator at night.

The Scale Edition, by contrast, embraces a regal draconian theme. The tuck box glows with intricate gold foil that shimmers like the scales of a mythical dragon, while its card backs blend vintage floral patterns with the silhouettes of noble, reptilian beasts. Both editions feature metallic gilt edges, silver for Claw, gold for Scale—that elevate the decks into the realm of collectible art.

Inside, 12 hand-drawn beasts form the heart of DARKFUR, each designed with anatomical precision and layered lore. Together, they populate a world that feels both dangerous and awe-inspiring. The project expands beyond the cards themselves, offering a 32-page bestiary booklet that delves deeper into the stories and illustrations of these creatures.

With production limited to 2,000 copies per edition, DARKFUR: Claw & Scale is positioned as both a deck for gameplay and a work of fantasy art.

Moonbound: The 2025 Club Deck for 52 Plus Joker

The 52 Plus Joker club just has revealed its official 2025 deck, Moonbound, a striking collaboration that unites the creative vision of Giovanni Meroni with the craftsmanship of Boschiero & Newton and Legends Playing Card Company. 

Produced exclusively for club members, the release is limited to just 1,000 decks, making it one of the most anticipated collector’s editions of the year.

At first glance, Moonbound is unmistakably Giovanni. The design is symmetrical, steeped in symbolism, and infused with the distinct storytelling language of Thirdway Industries. Inspired by French traditions yet modern in execution, the deck feels both timeless and avant-garde.

Inside, players and collectors will find gold cold foiling on both the faces and backs, creating a luminous shimmer that highlights the intricate illustrations. The deck includes the 52 custom cards along with two Jokers, each rendered with the same meticulous artistry that defines the whole project.

The presentation is as ambitious as the design itself. Each deck comes housed in a custom die-cut outer sleeve textured and foiled.  A numbered 52 Plus Joker seal completes the package, giving each deck its own unique place in the limited run.

Daniel Madison Releases The MAD DECK

Renowned cardist and magician Daniel Madison has unveiled his latest creation: The MAD DECK. Unlike the luxury collector’s editions that dominate today’s market, the MAD DECK is designed with a different mission: to be the deck of the people.

The back design features a striking blue pattern of interlocking Madison emblems, a visual symbol of unity and connection within the card community. Subtle customizations extend throughout the deck, from reimagined jokers to updated courts, each carrying Madison’s signature style while remaining highly functional.

Each deck also includes a QR code linking to Madison’s tutorial for MAD MONTE, offering buyers not just a deck of cards, but an entry point into Madison’s world of sleight-of-hand and street magic.
