Rajputs Playing Cards by Nova Lux Decks is a premium celebration of Rajasthan’s royal heritage, bringing centuries of valour, beauty, and honour to life through a meticulously illustrated playing card deck. Inspired by legendary Rajput rulers, warriors, queens, and saints, the collection transforms the stories of Rajasthan’s past into a stunning work of collectible art.
Designed by Ritu Bhattacharya of Old Gravity, with inspiration gathered through travels across Rajasthan’s historic forts, palaces, and cultural landmarks, every element reflects the region’s architectural beauty and traditions. Intricate jharokha windows, carved jaali patterns, palace frescoes, floral motifs, and sandstone textures are woven throughout the deck, creating an authentic connection to Rajasthan’s artistic legacy.
The collection is available in two editions: Red Sandstone and Yellow Sandstone, each inspired by the iconic stone architecture of Rajasthan. The decks feature luxurious embossed and foiled tuck boxes, premium black-core linen finish cards, detailed custom artwork, and Kickstarter-exclusive gilded edges.
The card backs showcase elaborate mandala designs inspired by royal palace ceilings, while the court cards portray legendary figures such as Maharana Pratap, Maharani Padmavati, Rana Sanga, Prithviraj Chauhan, Sant Meerabai, and other icons of Rajput history.
The Aces and number cards continue the theme with architectural compositions, traditional motifs, and intricate decorative details, while the Jokers celebrate Rajasthan’s living culture through folk dance and music traditions.
Combining historical storytelling, fine illustration, and exceptional craftsmanship, Rajputs Playing Cards is more than a deck—it is a miniature tribute to the kingdoms, legends, and artistic traditions of Rajasthan, capturing the spirit of a royal era in every card.
Printed by King Star and pledge start at $17 on Kickstarter.
