What Happened to DropThirtyTwo?

DropThirtyTwo was formed back in November 2018 and had a successful launch with their first deck- The Gamblers Playing Cards. Founded by Christofer Lacoste and lead designer, the company had a great opening month. Shortly after, the company went into radio silence. No updates on the progress of the deck or delivery date. Unfortunately, complications of production, management, and other variables, the company took a backseat as we tried to figure out how to fix everything.

Fast forward 7 months, DropThirtyTwo released an update on their social media of images of the relaunched company site, alongside their first release The Gamblers Borderless. The company is focusing on producing the best playing cards in the world, combined with their new direction it seems like they’ve had a great relaunch. We certainly are excited about the direction of the company and the product offerings.

5 Things You Didn’t Know About The Gamblers/The Blackout Collection

The Gamblers by DropThirtyTwo were created to be the perfect weapon alongside your arsenal of misdirection and skill. Inspired by underground poker games, the Gamblers are equipped with a number of secrets to take advantage of. Designed by Christofer Lacoste, the Gamblers outstanding pattern design, and luxury detail visuals will not only become your go-to deck of playing cards but it will become the standard for players and performers worldwide.

Here are 5 things you didn’t know about The Gamblers/The Blackout Collection:

1. The Golden Tickets
Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory has always been one of Christofer's favorite movies, "It’s truly one of my favorite movies. So as an homage to the movie, I've decided to add 3 golden tickets. The first one can be won from the stock we have on DropThirtyTwo online store.  (There's only a few hundred left). The other Two tickets will be randomly placed and mixed with Murphy's Magic Stock, so they can appear anywhere in the world, through any shop."

2. The BlackOut Collection:  The Ultimate Collection for the Masses
The Gamblers is 1 of a series of playing cards that are part of The Black Out Collection. There are 4 different deck designs that will be released throughout 2019 (starting with The Gamblers). Aside from all that, there's also a Gamblers Master Course, a full line of lifestyle products, apparel & accessories, and close-up pad.

3. Collectors Box
There's going to be 32 Single Deck "collectors box" of the RED limited edition deck, that will be signed by Christofer and will have a numbered gold seal. Also includes documentation for authentication and a Gamblers Key-Chain. Note that the box on the image is not final.

4. The Printing
The Gamblers decks are being printed by the United States Playing Card Company, on Bee Stock with an air cushion finish and Traditional Cut. The Box is Matte Black Stock with embossing and a Duo-Tone (Accent & Black) foil design. The inside of the box will also carry the pattern across in its main accent foil.

The Gamblers have a Gold Foil accent, The Bordered has a Silver Foil Accent, and the Limited Edition comes with a Red foil accent. The Limited Red Edition Red is exclusive to Murphys Magic and will not have a reprint in the future.

5. Featuring
There are Magicians who not only inspire but create paths so others have the drive to pursue their dreams. The Gamblers Playing Card pays homage to key individuals that Christofer believes are doing just that, either on a large scale or in their own rights.

First Look: Gamblers Playing Cards by DropThirtyTwo

Three colorways of Gamblers Playing Cards from DropThirtyTwo will be released for pre-order tomorrow. Designed by Christofer Lacoste (designer of the popular Mint Playing Cards), the Gamblers are fully custom and designed for magicians in mind.

The gold edition features a stylish borderless card back while the Silver and Red Edition are bordered. All three decks are marked.

The number cards are designed with a  tri-tone color effect, giving it a sense of depth and accentuating the eye-catching aesthetic.

All four aces in the deck are custom and meticulously designed with luxury in mind. Look closely to discover the hidden meaning behind these aces.

The Royals have been enhanced with Christofer's signature style of having the back design appear on the garments of the courts, Each court card is signed featuring someone that is somehow connected to Christofer Lacoste. For example, Jack of Hearts features Luke Dancy from Murphy's Magic!

The decks are packaged in an embossed matte black tuck with foil accents on the outside and a stunning full pattern foil design on the inside.
