Cardistry: Watch the Cool RIPNDIP X Fontaine Pop-Up Video

Check out this cool performance video from the RIPNDIP X Fontaine Pop-Up last weekend in Los Angeles (27th October). RIPNDIP is a clothing brand that has a very specific voice and it often focuses on eccentric designs that aren't afraid to stray from the norm. This is clearly reflected on the FULLY custom RIPNDIP Fontaines. The deck was released online on 28th October and sold out within 10 minutes.

Kickstarter: OMEGA Playing Cards Surpassed Its Funding Goal

Crafted for the cardists in mind, OMEGA Playing Cards are inspired by simple geometric shapes optimized for card flourishes and displays with a simple yet distinctive design.

The deck is designed by Keshav Mongia and has just surpassed its funding goal of $5.4k on Kickstarter. The full bleed back design is truly unique and the cards connect with each other to create static Cardistry (aesthetic stationary displays).

Inside, the face cards are standard but recolored with neon ink making them stand out in motion. The deck is packaged in a letterpress matted de-embossed tuck box with white glossy foil printed by Clove St Press.

OMEGA Playing Cards are currently LIVE on Kickstarter until November 16, where pledge start at $15.

Card Flash: House of the Rising Spades Playing Cards

Wow! Where do we start with these stunning decks?! Lorenzo Gaggioti of Stockholm17 has outdone himself with the House of the Rising Spades Playing Cards. The decks are richly detailed and Lorenzo's incredible artwork, in particular, the court cards, adds mystery with bold royals and contrast.

Both Cartomancer and Faro editions are exquisite! The tucks, produced by Lotrek's Oath Playing Cards, are truly breathtaking. The tuck is exceptionally sturdy, and the foil and embossing are in excellent register with the printed artwork.

Inside, the Cartomancer deck has a tarot look and feel. The aces have a magick sigil, and you will notice the stunning gold borders on all 54 face cards. Cartomancer is printed by Cartamundi with B9 true linen finish and cold-foil on both sides of the cards.

Meanwhile, the Faro edition is closer to the traditional poker decks from the 1800's. Printed by the USPCC, the face cards have no indices and you will notice the one-way design for all the face cards. It took a while to get used to the one-way design but you will hardly notice it after a few games.

Definitely one of the best decks released this year. If you want a deck to impress for game nights or just in the collection, definitely pick a few up. Available at stockholm17.com.
