Kickstarter: Leaves Playing Cards

The Dutch Card House Company is back with their biggest and boldest project to date. As you may know, climate change, seas full of plastic waste, and the destruction of rainforests are hurting our planet and the animals that live on it.

Over the past months, the Dutch Card House Company has put a lot of effort into producing a deck of cards that combines the love for playing cards and care for the environment into one harmonious package.

To complement all these environmentally friendly characteristics, the Leaves design is completely nature-inspired. According to the team,
The traditional-looking layout of the back design is reminiscent of nature and its dark and olive green colors. The court cards maintain their traditional designs but are merged with the color composition to create a whole, fully custom deck of cards.

Perfect for every card enthusiast, magician and cardist, these cards maintain a classic and professional look. The Dutch Card House Company has worked closely with the USPCC to produce a truly extraordinary deck of cards. Using vegetable-based inks, each card is printed on sustainable forest paper and finished with starch-based laminating.

All decks come inside a tuck box made out of responsibly farmed forest paper. Also, this deck of cards contains absolutely zero plastics. Instead of the traditional cello wrap, the team has opted to go for a custom paper seal. This makes Leaves playing cards fully and easily recyclable.

Join the project today on Kickstarter to make a small but meaningful difference for the environment. Pledge starts at $12.

The Secret Tale of Ragnar Lodbrok by the Dutch Card House Company

Now on Kickstarter, the Secret Tale series by the Dutch Card House Company comprises exclusive limited deluxe playing cards, adorned with intricately designed artwork, each portraying undisclosed narratives of renowned legends never previously unveiled.

Following the success of the Secret Tale of King Arthur and the Secret Tale of Robin Hood, the Dutch Card House Company unveils its third instalment, delving into the enigmatic story of Ragnar Lodbrok. This narrative explores Ragnar’s journey from humble beginnings as a farmer to his ascent as a Viking King, entwined with the mysterious symbolism of a bee sting.

Maintaining the series’ signature aesthetic, the design seamlessly blends traditional folk art with vintage color schemes. Inspired by Ragnar Lodbrok’s saga, the back design incorporates a plethora of motifs, contributing to the cohesive ambience of the Secret Tale series.

Like its predecessors, the Ragnar Black Bee edition features elements that resonate with its storyline, while the White Bee edition serves as a collector’s item, symbolizing the vibrant Viking era. Limited to just 350 units, this edition boasts a numbered insignia, adding to its exclusivity.

The newly designed Courts spotlight central characters from the Secret Tale of Ragnar Lodbrok, some of whom have remained concealed for centuries until now. The artwork featured in the Secret Tales series is entirely exclusive, offering collectors a unique addition to their collection.

The Ace of Spades provides insight into Ragnar’s life narrative, while the customized pips and font enhance the deck’s allure. The Limited Orange Warrior edition, available in 150 prints, features opulent foil embellishments on uncoated orange paper stock, creating a luxurious tactile experience.

In addition to the three decks available during the Kickstarter campaign, enthusiasts can choose from Gilded decks and extra accessories. All decks will be printed by WJPC, ensuring the highest quality standards for discerning collectors. Pledge starts from $19 on Kickstarter.

Leaves (Autumn Edition) Playing Cards Dutch Card House Company

Earlier this year, the Dutch Card House Company (DCHC) launched the first edition of the Leaves Playing Cards on Kickstarter. With the help of 370 backers, the team managed to support the Adopt Rainforest Foundation and adopt 650m² of rainforest in Costa Rica with the successful funding of the Green leaves Spring Edition.

The Leaves Autumn Edition is seeking funds on Kickstarter, and the DCHC team is once again raising even more awareness about responsible playing card printing and expand the adopted rainforest. In terms of design, the traditional-looking layout of the card backs is reminiscent of autumn, complete with its falling leaves and cozy feel.

The court cards maintain their traditional designs but with an updated color scheme to make it fit in better with the overall autumn theme of the deck. Together, this perfect for card games, magic routines, and cardistry!

Two identical jokers have been included on the deck. One of them features a special 3 of hearts card reveal!

The striking tuck box compliments the cards it holds inside. The leaves ornament runs from the front to the back of the box and can create a display with 3 boxes. Also, there will be NO plastic cello wrap in order to prevent the use of single-use plastics. So instead, DCHC will close the tuck of the Standard Edition with a custom-designed seal and a custom numbered seal for the Collector's Edition.

Available now on Kickstarter for $13 and printed by the United States Playing Card Company using vegetable-based inks, each card is printed on sustainable forest paper and finished with starch-based laminating.

Black Tulip Playing Cards Now on Kickstarter

Almost a year ago the Dutch Card House Company introduced the Dark Blue, Light Blue, and Orange Tulip Playing Cards. A Dutch heritage of luxury playing cards crafted for both cardists and card collector, to salute the most famous Dutch folklore jewel, The Tulip!

Now they are back with a new deck of cards in the series of Tulip Playing Cards to tribute the rarest and difficult to breed Tulip, the Black Tulip! For centuries, Dutch Tulip growers labored to find or breed this exclusive flower. In nature, it is very difficult to breed black varieties! A tulip of this hue is exceedingly rare, and in the Netherlands, where about $150 million worth of tulip bulbs and $100 million in cut tulips are produced a year, the tulip's potential profits are significant, a true Black Tulip will be the absolute masterpiece!

The back of the Black Tulip sports an intense black with symbolic eye-catching Tulip and floral details, placed in an ornamental way to create traditional-looking playing cards. For an extra glamorous look, Metallic Silver Ink accents have been added to several design elements on the back.

Meanwhile, the face cards have been enhanced to fit the overall theme of the deck, this time in a black/white colorway. To give the court cards the attention they deserve, they are also dressed up with the same Silver Metallic Ink used on the card backs.

The pips are customized and for the font, they used an old Dutch writing style. The custom Ace of Spades with Silver Metallic Ink is the crown jewel of the deck.

Like the previous Tulips, the Black Tulip tucks will be embossed and comes adorned in shiny Silver Foil on Black matte paper stock. They tuck has been redesigned and now the back is richly decorated with the embossed Tulip pattern.

The deck will be printed by USPCC on air cushion embossed card finish and currently funding on Kickstarter. For the stretch goal (€ 9000), the Dutch Card House Company will add the Tulip Playing Cards deck with a beautiful aubergine, eggplant color.

The Secret Tale Cleopatra Playing Cards by the Dutch Card House Company

The Secret Tale Cleopatra playing cards is the fourth chapter in the Dutch Card House Company's storytelling deck series. Now seeking funds on Kickstarter, this release also introduces a strategic solo and duo game: Sesheta’s Gambit, set against a richly imagined tale of power, deception, and myth.

Inspired by a mysterious papyrus sealed with Cleopatra’s mark, the narrative follows a young queen who strikes a dangerous bargain with Sesheta, a mythical, whispering serpent. Each deception gives Cleopatra power but comes at the cost of her memories. When her reign crumbles, the serpent demands her final secret, leading to her disappearance into the Labyrinth of Fangs. This haunting story forms the foundation of both the card artwork and the gameplay.

The decks feature fully custom illustrations, with courts representing key characters from Cleopatra’s tale. The design merges ancient Egyptian motifs with the refined aesthetics of previous Secret Tale entries. Each card in the deck, right down to the pips and font has been meticulously designed.

Deck editions include the White Serpent and Black Serpent, both featuring intricate foil accents, with gilded versions in gold and purple—each marked with a numbered seal. The ultra-luxurious Mini Gilded Serpent also makes its debut, echoing the finishes of its full-size counterpart.

Sesheta’s Gambit brings the story to life as a fast-paced card game for one or two players, where players build suit-based foundations, dodge strategic pitfalls, and wield powers through symbolic Jokers and Jacks.

Special abilities, sabotage mechanics, and unique character roles deliver an immersive and replayable experience. The game booklet includes full rules and deep lore, and will be available in multiple languages.

Pledge starts at $20 on Kickstarter.

On Kickstarter, Diamon Playing Cards Nº22

The Dutch Card House Company has launched Diamon Playing Cards Nº22 on Kickstarter to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the series! The Nº22 deck is the 8th edition in the Diamon Playing Cards series and it all started with the N°2 back in 2017.

This edition comes with GOLD FOIL on the tuck and back of the cards. Much of what you know and love about the Diamon series has remained the same. Nº22 features the same small border-bleeding diamond that folds over the edge of the back design and face cards, allowing for awesome spreads and fans!

The pips are consistent with the Diamond pattern found on the back to create a harmonious deck of cards. Once again, Nº22 is fully custom, complete with custom-designed power aces and court cards.

Also, for this special occasion, The Dutch Card House Company will offer a KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE custom-designed snug fit X1 carat case, produced by Carat Case Creations. Kickstarter: Paisley Playing Cards by the Dutch Card House Company

Paisley Playing Cards is a classic looking deck inspired by the timeless Paisley, pattern meticulously designed by the team at Dutch Card House Company. The deck design is a departure from their first three cardistry-centric playing cards. This time, they wanted to create a worker's deck for everyday use and performance. 52 cards that merge elegance with function.

The nature-inspired design lends itself perfectly for a clean yet detailed back design. The tuck is clean, simple and allover immersed with the paisley design. The deep black colorway of the tuck gives this deck a rich and elegant look. The court cards appear in their traditional designs but have a slight paisley touch that merges the concept to create a whole, fully custom deck of cards.

Included in this deck is a well hidden, two ways, marking system integrated into the detailed back design. It is very easy to read for the trained eye and completely invisible to the audience. Head to their website to find out how it works.

The cards will be printed on the crushed grade stock by the USPCC with the Air Cushion Finish and traditionally cut, the highest quality available. Pledge starts at €8 (USD$10) on Kickstarter.

A limited edition Paisley Playing Cards in French Blue design with blue metallic ink on the back and tuck will be available if the stretched goal of €10.000 is met.

La Pasta Playing Cards by the Dutch Card House Company

The Dutch Card House Company has just released a new deck series on Kickstarter- La Pasta Playing Cards. It is the first deck in a series of 6 decks that celebrates all things pasta.

This first set includes both ‘Farfalle’ and ‘Fusilli’. The Farfalle sports a red colorway. Farfalle means butterfly and the pasta originates from the north of Italy. Especially its fans make this deck stand out.

The blue edition deck features the Fusilli, or spirals. We can thank the century-old southern-Italian tradition. The grooves in the pasta are good for holding pasta sauce, but work great as playing cards too!

When designing the deck, the designers drew inspiration from pop art, which can be seen in all design elements of the deck. The cartoon-like shapes and shadows make this deck truly unique! The back design, as well as the faces, fuse together to make a complete set of cards.

Also, there is a limited edition collector box that can be purchased alongside a pledge, or if you pledge for 6 decks or more, the collector box will be included for free. The design of the box gives clues as to which types of pasta they will release next.

Pledge starts from $14 and at the time of writing, the deck is only 29% funded with less than 12 days to go. If you want to support this vibrant and fun deck, head over to Kickstarter now.
