Cardistry: All the NEW Cardistry Decks Spotted in Cardistry-Con 2017


Another Cardistry-Con has come and gone, and this year's event was the biggest global cardistry event in history. Attendance grew by 100% compared to the previous year in Berlin. A strong crowd of more than 300 cardists attended cardistry-con in downtown Los Angeles within the Arts District at The Springs. In addition, new cardistry decks were introduced over the Con weekend. Here's what caught our attention (Image above from @cardisfornia_apparel):

Only 200 were produced specifically for attendees of Cardistry-Con.



Waist Playing Cards

A unique deck of cards with new form and design.



Carrots by Anwar Carrots edition Fontaines 

Probably one of the most sought-after deck outside Cardistry-Con. Founder Zach Mueller will have these available for sale next week. Even at a higher price, we expect these to go fast!

Pineapple Playing Cards

From Hanson Chien Production Co. these limited edition decks are a fun take on the popular Bee Playing Cards, only 150 decks of each color (Violet, Maroon or Brown) were produced.



Hype Playing Cards

Michael Stern's fun take on hype decks. Volume 1 is a mash-up of Cardistry-Con 2016, DealersGrip's STRIPE, Fontaine and the Virts SS16 decks.

Cardistry: Cardistry-Con 2017 Deck: Here’s What We Know So Far


Early this week, the guys at Art of Play teased a few images of the upcoming Cardistry-Con 2017 deck on their Instagram account (@artofplay). Here's what we know so far about the deck:

1. Release Date

When it comes to the release date, the official word straight from Art of Play is Friday, July 7th, 9am PST. This will be in conjunction with the Cardistry-Con held in Los Angeles.

2. Designer

The designer of the deck is none other than Benji Taylor- who also designed the Cardistry-Con 2016 deck.


3. Face Cards

The Ace of Spades is custom. However, the courts are standard with colors updated to match the overall color palette of the deck.

4. Borderless

The deck appears to be borderless as seen from the latest @artofplay image.



5. Tuck Box

The tuck features wrap-around design consistent with the card back design.

Cardistry: The Cardistry-Con Awards 2018 Nominees Announced


Each year, cardists from around the globe come together on the last day of Cardistry-Con to celebrate and honor the major achievements in cardistry each year. The Awards Ceremony bestows accolades in five fields: Deck of the Year, Move of the Year, Video of the Year, Breakout Cardist of the Year, and Cardistry-Con Champion.

Last week, the organizers put out an open call for nominations in the first four categories. Below are this year’s official nominees, based on followers votes.


Congratulations to all nominees! The House of Cardistry members will be voting on the first four categories, and the results of those and the CCC will be announced live at Cardistry-Con on Sunday, September 23rd.

The Cardistry-Con Awards Ceremony will be taking place in Hong Kong on Sunday, September 23rd at 11am (Hong Kong Time), and will also be broadcast live via social media (@cardistrycon).

Cardistry-Con 2023 Registration is Now Open


Cardistry-Con, the annual conference focused on the art of cardistry, is returning to Europe after a seven-year hiatus. The conference, which brings together cardists from all over the world to explore the expressive potential of playing cards, will be held in London (Crypt on the Green, Clerkenwell Close) on July 28th and 29th, 2023.

This year’s Cardistry-Con promises to be an incredible event, featuring workshops, performances, and opportunities to connect with other cardists in an encouraging and supportive environment. Attendees will have the chance to learn from some of the best cardists in the world, as well as to showcase their own skills and techniques.

“We’re thrilled to bring Cardistry-Con back to Europe for the first time since 2016,” said a Cardistry-Con representative. “We’ve found a unique location in London that we’re sure will provide the perfect backdrop for this year’s conference.”

Cardistry: Cardistry-Con, Berlin

Cardists from all around the world have descended on Berlin, Germany for Cardistry’s biggest event this year, the Cardistry-Con 2016. Organised by Dan and Dave, The Virts and Dealersgrip. Cardistry-Con is a three-day conference devoted to the mesmerising art of cardistry. Thanks to James Milaras, from Joker and the Thief, we are able to share some images of the Cardistry-Con with you.


On July 8, cardists from all over the world gather and explore the limitless expressive potential of an ordinary deck of playing cards… and have an absolute blast together! The event includes talks, exclusive video screenings, live performances and Q&As.

Headliners for Day 1 includes Chase Duncan, Chris Hestnes, Dave Buck and Dimitri Arleri. Talks such as Crediting in Cardistry were covered on Day 1.
