PlayingCardDecks Releases Bicycle (Faro Edition) Playing Cards

Produced by Will Roya at PlayingCardDecks with artwork by Azured Ox, the Bicycle Faro Edition playing cards is a throwback to the old playing card decks from the 1800s.

The deck sports a familiar Bicycle-branded tuck box, which incorporates the iconic "Bicycle" brand logo and the word "Faro Edition".

Inside, the face cards with the exception of the Ace of Spades and Jokers are pretty much standard but with no numbers to indicate the value of the card.

Suit symbols are large and the pips are easily recognizable. It will take a while to get used to the deck without the numbered index during card games... but you will hardly notice it after a few games.

For the working magician, the deck comes with a card reveal on the inside tuck flap and Joker. 2 gaff cards are also included for magic routines.

Card Flash: Bicycle Knights Playing Cards by PlayingCardDecks

From Playingcarddecks, Knights Playing Cards is a collaboration with award-winning Scotish artist Sam Hayles. The deck was successfully funded on Kickstarter late January and now at the final stages of fulfillment.

As the name suggests, the deck is inspired by medieval knights and their most recognized style of armor and weapons. Both the tuck and the cards have a vintage look and feel to them - at first glance, almost as though they've been kept in storage for ages!

Bicycle Knights deck is fully custom and hand-illustrated with great attention to detail. Sam's gritty style of illustration has been applied to the two-way courts, coat of arms aces, jokers and the bold indices of each suit.

Card Flash: The Guard Playing Cards by PlayingCardDecks

Currently in fulfillment by PlayingCardDecks, the Guard playing cards is a classic vintage-inspired deck for the modern player, collector, cardist or magician. Designed by Polish designer Artur Rajch and produced by Will Roya of PlayingCardDecks, the decks were funded on Kickstarter late December 2017. I continue to be impressed by Will's incredible work rate and how quickly the Guard were delivered to backers.

Both the Oak and Slate edition of the Guard are very well done! For me, the Oak edition stands out more due to the use of a brighter and lighter color tone. Both decks feature fully custom and matching face designs but with contrasting card backs.

The card backs beautifully designed with a floral motif, complementing the vintage-style of the deck. The artwork of the courts are gorgeous. The vintage-inspired design has delicate embellishments to charm and delight. Definitely the highlight of the deck for me.

For the magicians, 2 gaff cards were included in each edition. The Oak Deck comes with a double back and double face, while the Slate Deck includes the Contrasting Double Back and Blank Face. Also, a card reveal has been printed on the inside flaps of each of the tuck.

Printed by the United States Playing Card Co. with embossed finish, these decks handles superbly as expected.

Matador Bicycle Playing Cards by PlayingCardDecks

Parrot Bicycle Playing Cards by PlayingCardDecks

Produced by PlayingCardDecks, Parrot Bicycle Playing Cards is the third deck by Renee LeCompte and the second deck on Parrots. The Parrot Bicycle deck is the remake of the OG Parrot deck but now showcasing over 200 unique parrot species.

Each card is fully custom and richly illustrated with 1 to 10 parrots on it, corresponding with the card number. The courts are illustrated in the classic style with mirrored faces. This eye-catching deck features full color both front and back!

Nearly every genus from the Psittaciforme order is shown in the cards, which are organized by region.  The Spades show parrots from South America, The Hearts show parrots from Australia. The Clubs feature parrots from Indonesia and the Pacific Islands, and finally, the  Diamonds show parrots from Africa, mainland Asia, and the Philippines.

Two decks are made available during the campaign- Standard and Extinct Edition. The Standard Edition features over 200 parrots in all, ranging from the majestic Black Palm cockatoo and Hyacinth macaw to the world's tiniest parrot, the Buff-faced Pygmy parrot.

Circus No. 47 Reproduction Playing Cards

Around 1896, the non-standard “Circus No. 47” Playing Cards was released along several Stage decks and Transformation decks by the newly incorporated United States Playing Card Company.

As Hochman wrote of this “dashing” circus-themed deck, the “staid” traditional courts are replaced with ringmasters, clowns, queens and circus scene backs. This reproduction deck has been digitally recreated from scratch by Azured Ox and produced by Will Roya.

This fun all-purpose deck features easy to read large indices and 12 interesting individual courts. The original deck only included 1 joker but the team at PlayingcardDecks added extra joker for modern gameplay.
