Deck View: Invasion (Space Edition) Playing Cards

Designed by Rattle Shuttle, Invasion (Space Edition) Playing Cards is a sci-fi themed deck successfully funded on Kickstarter in late-2018. The deck is the first in the Invasion series with a cool back story about alien races fighting for power in the milky way  The design of the deck was inspired by War of The Worlds by Herbert George Wells that the designer, Dmitry Lebedev read as a child growing up in snowy Russia. 

Fully custom ,the deck features four different alien races, each representing a different suit and court cards showcase the alien leaders while the aces are the spaceships. Both faces and backs contain metallic silver ink. The tuck box contains silver foil on it. The tuck box for this deck contains a lot of easter eggs and references that people would appreciate, for some of them you would have to unfold the tuck box since they are hidden in folded parts of the box interior.

First Look: Lock-n-Load Playing Cards by Rattle Shuttle

From Sci-Fi to the Wild West. The team at Rattle Shuttle is back on Kickstarter with a brand new deck of playing cards, Lock-n-Load. According to the campaign page,

This deck represents a big part of American history. It stands for the Second Amendment, which gave the right to keep and bear arms to citizens, which gave the power to citizens' hands. This made it easier for people to believe in democratic ideals, and it is one of the reasons why the United States of America had a strong start and is one of the biggest economic capitals of the world today. In 2021 the Second Amendment will be 230 years old. In celebration of that right, we created two decks that will accurately capture a piece of American history and the right of every American citizen.

Designed by Dmitry Lebedev, all of the face cards have carefully handcrafted imagery of guns that are accurate to their real-life examples. In terms of visual aesthetics, the engraving style of the illustration is common around the time when gun displays were popular.

The imagery of the Gadsden flag can be found on the back of the cards. Along with the timber rattlesnake, the back also includes the famous motto, "DONT TREAD ON ME".

The back was designed in a way to look new and different, but on the other hand, it reminds you of the deck you might find in your grandma's home. It looks familiar, like an old friend. The colors on the cards are pretty subdued with the brown color- polished wood gun stock and gray colorway, gunmetal.

The deck is packaged in a tuck box with gold foil and embossing for the brown deck and silver for the gray one. The faces of both decks will include three colors - black, gold, and red for the brown one, and black, silver, and red for the gray one.

Cards will be printed on 310gsm stock German black core paper with premium linen. The deck is scheduled to launch on Kickstarter, 26th February.

Kickstarter: Invasion (Blood Edition) Playing Cards

Designed by Rattle Shuttle, helmed by father and son team of Dmitry Lebedev and Nikita Lebedev, Invasion (Blood Edition) Playing Cards are a sci-fi themed deck currently funding on Kickstarter. The deck is the second in the Invasion series after the Space Edition funded early this year.

Continuing the narrative, the Blood Edition features four different alien races: Peekians, Boobians, Threphians, and Zervians, each representing a different suit. The aliens have started the conquest to conquer and enslave new planets, rich with natural resources.

This led them to the Solar System, where they faced the Earths' desperate opposition. In this epic battle, aliens not only have to conquer a new planet but they also have to fight each other or collaborate with other extra-terrestrial forms to ensure their power over Earth.

Fully custom, the hand-illustrated court cards showcase the alien leaders while the aces are the spaceships they conquer the planets with. The deck is kept in a tuck box in deep red, with embossing and gold foil on the exterior and interior print.

The exclusive to this Kickstarter is a hand crafted wooden box made out of solid walnut wood has magnet locks, and black velvet padding on the inside. The box holds two decks (Space and Blood) and is limited to 144 regular pledges.
