Lotus in Hand's Echo x Smoke & Mirrors Releases Today!

Dan and Dave Buck's Smoke & Mirrors is getting another collab, this time with Taiwanese cardistry group, Lotus in Hand. The group's popular Echo deck is getting reimagined with the Smoke & Mirrors brand. The original Smoke & Mirrors brand playing cards were designed to be a personal deck for the Buck twins.

Releasing stateside tomorrow, November 6th, the deck is set to arrive in 2 colorways, black and white. The Echo x Smoke & Mirrors sports a 'bullseye' design with Dan and Dave's logo prominently featured on tuck box. The D&D logo design is showcased on the holographic card backs with white borders. Meanwhile, the face cards also showcase the D&D logo embedded within the number and courtss. The Ace of Spades and diptych Jokers are custom.

Limited Number of Smoke & Mirrors v8 Blue Edition Drops Today!

For the first time in almost 10 years, the Dan and Dave's Smoke & Mirrors are back in print, but this time reimagined by Card Mafia. According to Card Mafia on social media,

We are very proud to collaborate with Dan and Dave on designing a custom tuck case for the Smoke & Mirrors v8, giving it an innovative and unique feel to such a legendary design.

Like the original, the linework on these cards is just beautiful. Illustrated by hand by Si Scott the cards feature an updated back design based on the original edition released in 2008, complete with minimal court cards, custom jokers, and an intricate ace of spades! A simple yet elegant design is still a favorite among collectors, magicians, and card aficionados alike. 

The new Smoke & Mirrors decks were originally released 5 months ago on the Chinese e-commerce store, Taobao. Images of the V8's were leaked early and made the rounds on social media.

Smoke & Mirrors V9 Orange Edition Playing Cards

Marking its comeback, this edition is a tribute to the fourth version initially released in 2010. Smoke & Mirrors (15th Anniversary Edition) Playing Cards

To commemorate the fifteen-anniversary release of Smoke & Mirrors playing cards, Dan and Dave worked with their longtime friend and collaborator Brad Fulton to design an all-new edition inspired by 19th-century typography- a homage to the original Smoke & Mirrors design featuring intricate details in black and white for a sophisticated look.

With artwork by Ethan Kowaleski, the cards feature the iconic D&D monogram in a new typeset surrounded by a mosaic pattern on the backs along with a custom ace of spades, joker, and suits for the number cards. Packaged inside a letterpress-printed tuck box sealed with a stamp.
